Getting started with TODAY Type is quick and easy. You can create an account in just a few minutes using your email or by signing in with Google, Microsoft, or Apple.
Registration Options
TODAY Type offers multiple ways to create your account:
Sign Up with Email

Go to the registration page
Visit type.tdy.ai/register or click "Sign Up" from the homepage. -
Enter your details
Fill in your full name, email address, and create a password. Your password must be at least 8 characters long. -
Confirm your password
Re-enter your password to ensure it matches. -
Click "Create Account"
You'll be automatically logged in and taken to the onboarding experience.
Sign Up with Social Accounts
For faster registration, you can use your existing accounts:
- Google - Click "Continue with Google" and authorize access
- Microsoft - Click "Continue with Microsoft" and sign in with your Microsoft account
- Apple - Click "Continue with Apple" and use Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password
Tip
Using a social sign-in option is the fastest way to get started. You can always add a password later in your account settings.
After Registration
Once you've created your account, you'll be guided through a brief onboarding experience that includes:
- Welcome & Introduction - Learn about the home row keys and proper finger placement
- Choose Your Learning Style - Select from AI Hybrid Training (recommended) or four scientifically-proven learning methods
- Quick Assessment - Take a short typing test to establish your baseline
- Get Started - Begin training or take a full typing test
Free Account Features
Your free account includes access to typing tests, progress tracking, achievements, leaderboards, and personalized training based on your skill level.
Joining an Organization
If your employer or school uses TODAY Type, they may send you an invitation link. Clicking this link will:
- Create your account (if you don't have one) or link to your existing account
- Automatically connect you to your organization's team
- Give you access to any premium features your organization has enabled
Troubleshooting
Email Already Registered
If you see a message that your email is already registered, try:
- Logging in with your existing account at /login
- Using the "Forgot Password" link if you don't remember your password
- Signing in with a social account if you originally registered that way
Social Login Issues
If you're having trouble with Google, Microsoft, or Apple sign-in:
- Make sure pop-ups are enabled for type.tdy.ai
- Try clearing your browser cache and cookies
- Ensure you're granting the necessary permissions when prompted
