Protecting your TODAY Type account is important. This guide covers password management, linked accounts, and security best practices.
Account Settings
Access your security settings:

Go to Profile
Click your name or avatar to access your profile. -
Click "Settings" or "Account"
Navigate to /profile/settings.
Password Management
Setting a Password
If you signed up using Google, Microsoft, or Apple, you may not have a password yet. You can add one:
- Go to Account Settings
- Find the Password section
- Enter your new password (minimum 8 characters)
- Confirm the password
- Click "Set Password"
Changing Your Password
If you already have a password:
- Go to Account Settings
- Find the Password section
- Enter your current password
- Enter your new password
- Confirm the new password
- Click "Update Password"
Password Requirements
- Minimum 8 characters long
- Recommended: Include letters, numbers, and symbols
- Must be different from your current password
Strong Password Tips
Use a unique password you don't use elsewhere. Consider using a password manager to generate and store strong, unique passwords.
Forgot Password
If you can't remember your password:

Go to the login page
Visit /login. -
Click "Forgot Password"
Find this link below the login form. -
Enter your email
Use the email address associated with your account. -
Check your email
You'll receive a password reset link (check spam if not in inbox). -
Click the reset link
This link expires after a short time for security. -
Create a new password
Enter and confirm your new password.
Link Expiration
Password reset links expire for security. If your link has expired, request a new one from the login page.
Linked Accounts (Social Sign-In)
TODAY Type supports signing in with third-party accounts.
Available Providers
- Google - Sign in with your Google account
- Microsoft - Sign in with Microsoft/Office 365
- Apple - Sign in with Apple (includes privacy features)
Linking an Account
- Go to Account Settings
- Find the "Linked Accounts" section
- Click "Link Google," "Link Microsoft," or "Link Apple"
- Sign in to the provider and authorize access
- Your accounts are now linked
Unlinking an Account
- Go to Account Settings
- Find the linked account you want to remove
- Click "Unlink"
Before Unlinking
You cannot unlink your only sign-in method. If you only have a social account linked and no password set, add a password first before unlinking.
Benefits of Linking Multiple Accounts
- More ways to sign in if one method is unavailable
- Use work account (Microsoft) at office, personal (Google) at home
- Backup access if you lose access to one account
Required Password Change
In some cases, you may be required to change your password:
When This Happens
- Administrator has reset your password
- You're a new user with a temporary password
- Security policy requires periodic password changes
What to Do
- You'll be redirected to the password change page
- Enter your current (temporary) password
- Create a new, strong password
- Confirm the new password
- You'll be redirected to continue using TODAY Type
Privacy Settings
Leaderboard Visibility
Control whether your name appears on public leaderboards:
- Go to Account Settings
- Find "Privacy Settings"
- Toggle "Hide from Leaderboards"
- Save your changes
When hidden:
- Your name appears as "Anonymous User" on leaderboards
- You can still see your own ranking
- Team administrators may still see your performance in team reports
Security Best Practices
Protect Your Account
- Use a unique password not used on other sites
- Don't share your password with others
- Log out when using shared or public computers
- Keep your email account secure (it's used for password resets)
Recognize Suspicious Activity
Contact support if you notice:
- Tests you didn't take appearing in your history
- Changes to your profile you didn't make
- Password reset emails you didn't request
- Unfamiliar linked accounts
What We Never Ask
TODAY Type will never:
- Ask for your password via email
- Send links asking you to "verify" your account unexpectedly
- Request payment information via email
