Password Requirements

  • Minimum 8 characters long
  • Recommended: Include letters, numbers, and symbols
  • Must be different from your current password

Strong Password Tips

Use a unique password you don't use elsewhere. Consider using a password manager to generate and store strong, unique passwords.

Forgot Password

If you can't remember your password:

  1. Go to the login page
    Visit /login.
  2. Click "Forgot Password"
Find this link below the login form.
  3. Enter your email
Use the email address associated with your account.
  4. Check your email
You'll receive a password reset link (check spam if not in inbox).
  5. Click the reset link
This link expires after a short time for security.
  6. Create a new password
Enter and confirm your new password.

Link Expiration

Password reset links expire for security. If your link has expired, request a new one from the login page.

Linked Accounts (Social Sign-In)

TODAY Type supports signing in with third-party accounts.

Available Providers

  • Google - Sign in with your Google account
  • Microsoft - Sign in with Microsoft/Office 365
  • Apple - Sign in with Apple (includes privacy features)

Linking an Account

  1. Go to Account Settings
  2. Find the "Linked Accounts" section
  3. Click "Link Google," "Link Microsoft," or "Link Apple"
  4. Sign in to the provider and authorize access
  5. Your accounts are now linked

Unlinking an Account

  1. Go to Account Settings
  2. Find the linked account you want to remove
  3. Click "Unlink"

Before Unlinking

You cannot unlink your only sign-in method. If you only have a social account linked and no password set, add a password first before unlinking.

Benefits of Linking Multiple Accounts

  • More ways to sign in if one method is unavailable
  • Use work account (Microsoft) at office, personal (Google) at home
  • Backup access if you lose access to one account

Required Password Change

In some cases, you may be required to change your password:

When This Happens

  • Administrator has reset your password
  • You're a new user with a temporary password
  • Security policy requires periodic password changes

What to Do

  1. You'll be redirected to the password change page
  2. Enter your current (temporary) password
  3. Create a new, strong password
  4. Confirm the new password
  5. You'll be redirected to continue using TODAY Type

Privacy Settings

Leaderboard Visibility

Control whether your name appears on public leaderboards:

  1. Go to Account Settings
  2. Find "Privacy Settings"
  3. Toggle "Hide from Leaderboards"
  4. Save your changes

When hidden:

  • Your name appears as "Anonymous User" on leaderboards
  • You can still see your own ranking
  • Team administrators may still see your performance in team reports

Security Best Practices

Protect Your Account

  • Use a unique password not used on other sites
  • Don't share your password with others
  • Log out when using shared or public computers
  • Keep your email account secure (it's used for password resets)

Recognize Suspicious Activity

Contact support if you notice:

  • Tests you didn't take appearing in your history
  • Changes to your profile you didn't make
  • Password reset emails you didn't request
  • Unfamiliar linked accounts

What We Never Ask

TODAY Type will never:

  • Ask for your password via email
  • Send links asking you to "verify" your account unexpectedly
  • Request payment information via email

Stay Secure

A few simple precautions keep your account safe. Use strong passwords, be cautious of phishing attempts, and keep your linked accounts secure.
